Why Are Home Prices Still So High in the U.S.?

The U.S. housing market continues to perplex both buyers and sellers as home prices remain stubbornly high despite various economic pressures. In our latest blog post, we delve into the key factors contributing to this phenomenon. From limited housing inventory to resilient buyer demand, we explore why home prices have not budged and what this means for the real estate market moving forward. Read on to understand the dynamics at play and what you can expect in the coming months.
Fort Bend County Market Update

In April 2024, Fort Bend County saw an increase in home prices, with the median price rising by 3.8% compared to the previous year, reaching $405,000. This indicates a growing demand or appreciation in the value of homes in the area. Additionally, the market seemed to be more competitive as homes sold faster this year, taking an average of 28 days to sell compared to 33 days in April 2023. Despite the rise in home prices and faster sales, the number of homes sold slightly decreased, with 1,015 homes sold in April 2024 compared to 1,027 homes sold in the same month last year. This slight drop in sales volume might suggest a limited supply of homes or potential buyers being priced out of the market. Overall, the data points to a robust and dynamic real estate market in Fort Bend County, characterized by rising prices and quicker sales.
